As a Shared Service Center (SSC), Daimler Group Services Berlin provides accounting services for the German plants and divisions of Daimler AG.
A Shared Service Center enables bundling of previously decentralized administrative functions with a high standardization potential within one area of responsibility and normally at one location. The objective of the German SSC organization in the area of accounting tasks is to bundle competences, improve the cost position and enhance the competitiveness of this corporate function.
Daimler Group Services Berlin is tasked with the processing of incoming and outgoing invoices for Daimler AG. The incoming invoices are processed in a paperless manner in the SAP R/3 Automotive Standard system with extensive interfaces to upstream and downstream systems.
Furthermore, the entire accounting functions through to drawing up the balance sheet for selected German affiliated companies in the Daimler Group are carried out at Daimler Group Services Berlin.

Outlook
Expansion of business operations through the assumption of further accounting tasks in the Daimler Group.
In the next months futher tasks will be taken over in the areas of accounts payable for the Daimler AG and financial accounting for German holding companies. In the Shared Services Center futher teams will be built up. Within the accounts payable approx. another 20 to 30 positions will be filled in 2011.
