“The day was absolutely awesome as it provided great opportunity for team building, great opportunity to work closer with the communities, great opportunity to understand the hardship that our fellow citizens face daily in their communities, great opportunity to learn a little bit about a new skill - all whilst having fun and providing much needed support to the less fortunate!

Hard work yet so fulfilling the tiredness didn’t seem to matter. Wonderful to see the joy of giving on the faces of my colleagues and of receiving on the faces of the recipients of those houses. Unforgettable.

We did things we have never done before or even thought that we were capable of doing. It was a wonderful experience.

When we were in the bus it felt like a nice field trip, however when we arrived there it was a total mind changing experience. To see with how little people needs to get along and how grateful they are for these houses made me humble. I felt special to be part of something this great. This will be a natural high for me and something that I will cherish for life. I made a difference!

It was a brilliant day all round! The day was full of fun and laughter, while colleagues and the Board Members carried bricks, mixed cement, pushed wheel barrows and carried scaffolding from one home to the next!

I feel very privileged, Kerry Elsdon and I were in the same team together, as we competed against Brendon, Deon and Gavin to see who finished building their wall first! Guess who won?

Knowing that another family will not be spending winter in a shack, but in a proper brick home built by caring colleagues from the Services Group, and seeing the joy and happiness of the community was very inspirational!

Count me in for next time; I will definitely be partaking in this event again!
