The phönikks foundation, which has been in existence for more than 20 years, is committed to providing children with cancer and their families with optimism and confidence.

The Hamburg-based phönikks gives patients the important practical and psychosocial support they need, helping families during the stressful times of illness and recovery, as well as bereavement. The work done by phönikks is funded solely through donations.

The Mercedes-Benz subsidiary in Hamburg and Mika Häkkinen are supporting the phönikks foundation. As part of the celebrations for the 100th anniversary of the branch in 2009, Dr. Dieter Zetsche and Mika Häkkinen presented the foundation with a donation of EUR 100,000. The donation was intended for the foundation’s children’s art project, in which children and their families are encouraged to confront their traumatic experiences with the illness with the help of an art teacher.

The children’s art project is held twice a year. In addition to promoting the artistic development of young people, the main aim of the project is to keep people together.
