Daimler AG supports the nature protection project run by the NABU-Stiftung Naturerbe Baden-Württemberg foundation because of its unique project for systematic environmental protection through alternative technologies. The boat is not motorized but is equipped with a solar system, which powers the on-board equipment and the batteries of the support boat.
Volunteers of the NABU-Stiftung Naturerbe Baden-Württemberg environmental protection organization use the boat to monitor the Wollmatinger Ried conservation area, research the rich and varied birdlife on Lake Constance and inform water sports enthusiasts on how best to avoid disturbing and damaging plants and animals. Construction was financed by NABU-Stiftung Naturerbe Baden-Württemberg, which spent a number of years collecting donations for Netta.
