Art Scope
Art Scope is an initiative promoting culture and fine arts undertaken by the Daimler Group in Japan and sponsored by the Daimler Foundation Japan. Mercedes Benz Japan first started Art Scope in 1991 receiving great recognition and wide support since then.

The artist-in-residence program as part of the initiative gives promising, young Japanese artists the opportunity to work and live in Europe and further develop their talent. To win broader public recognition in 2003, a partnership was formed with Hara Museum of Contemporary Art, a pioneer in the Japanese contemporary art scene.
Together with Dr. Renate Wiehager, Head of Corporate Art Department in Stuttgart further endeavors were made resulting in an additional exchange program in 2004 with a German artists come and experience Tokyo as well. 2004 also marked the first time for "Art Scope" exhibition to be held at the Daimler Contemporary Art Gallery in Berlin. The exhibition exclusively held in Japan till then, gained international venue and audience to showcase the artists' works with further support from the Corporate Art Department of Daimler headquarters.
Art Scope has received wide support and contributed to the artistic statue of twenty six young artists (19 Japanese artists and 7 German artists) who are now active in the contemporary art scene.
