Mercedes-Benz C-Class sedan (right and left-hand drive) & assembly of Mercedes-Benz chassis
C-Class for right-hand drive markets: The current C-Class is already the third generation to be produced in South Africa’s Eastern Cape district. The plant has been exporting sedans to right-hand drive markets since 2000. Since the production launch of the new C-Class in 2007, the facility also has been exporting left-hand drive vehicles to the U.S. Starting in 2014, the East London plant will also produce the successor generation of the current C-Class.
