Bus Industries of America Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Ontario Bus Industries, is incorporated in Oriskany, New York
1982
The first 30-foot and 35-foot Orion I vehicles are delivered from the new Bus Industries of America plant in New York
1985
The company develops and manufactures the Orion PeopleMover, a 75-foot tractor-trailer vehicle (the Orion IV) to transport tourists in the Niagara Falls area
1986
Ontario Bus Industries begins assembling and selling the Orion III, a 60-foot articulated bus for the Canadian market
1988
The first Orion transit bus specifically designed to operate on Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is put into service

2007
The Orion VII Next Generation is launched to the market, a Lithium-ion energy storage option is offered for the Orion VII diesel-electric hybrid bus starting in 2008, DaimlerChrysler sold Chrysler and became Daimler AG, as a result became Daimler Buses North America
