The quality concept for children under three is based upon the program “Birth to three matters” which was developed in England, and which the Bertelsmann Foundation has brought to Germany with the title “alert, inquiring, clever”. In addition to this state-of-the-art concept, Daimler has developed its own quality manual which enables us to implement pedagogical guidelines transparently and checkable.

Our prior aim is the affectionate and creative care for children and parents´ good feeling about knowing their children cared for optimally. Therefore, the pedagogical concept requires and asks for a close partnership child education, a trusting cooperation based on continuity between day care staff and parents. This means providing parents with information on pedagogical topics, to take time on a regular base for conversations with parents as well as parent meetings, to install a parents’ association, as well as many other activities.

Daimler cooperates with public and private commercial providers in Germany in running the day care centers. These providers already possess adequate experience and knowledge of the particular Daimler plant´s needs.
 

Highly Qualified Staff All pedagogical staff in the sternchen day care centers is specifically qualified for the work with children under three years of age. In addition, they regularly take part in qualification measures and advanced training sessions which have been developed exclusively for the Daimler Corporation. Special attention is turned to the promotion of intercultural competencies.   Psychological and Scientific Quality of Day Care The concept is based on latest scientific findings. The educational program is accompanied, supervised and regularly updated by developmental psychologists and pedagogues, and is implemented responsibly by all sternchen staff.
