Mercedes-Benz will see another record year in China by exceeding 2010 sales figures in first 10 months of 2011

With outstanding October sales of over 17,230 units contributing to a year-to-date growth of 36%, and deliveries of 156,635 units up to the end of October, Mercedes-Benz has already ensured that 2011 will be another record year in China by exceeding total sales figures of 147,670 units for 2010.

The locally produced Long-wheel-base E-Class and C-Class saw the highest monthly sales for this year with combined total sales of over 6320 units in October.

October sales of the sports-car family brought the year-to-date total to over 8,735 units boosted by the new CLS and all-new SLK after recent launches in China.
Mercedes-Benz impressive sales volume in October of over 17,230 units (+22%) of Mercedes-Benz, smart, Maybach and AMG pushed whole-year sales over the total for 2010, securing another record year in China. The year-to-date sales increased 36% over the same period last year, providing firm evidence of strength in sales momentum as Mercedes-Benz heads into the final two months of the year with confidence.
“Our first ten months sales have exceeded our annual sales record last year, and assured us of another record year for Mercedes-Benz in China. At the same time we're very determined to maintain this momentum with further launches of new products and continued expansion of our dealer network, as well as our ongoing after-sales campaigns, exemplified by the recent after-sales brand promise launch.” said Klaus Maier, President and CEO of Mercedes-Benz (China) Ltd.
Spurred by the recent launch of the E 300 L Elegance, sales of the locally-produced Long-wheel-base E-Class jumped to nearly 3,405 units in October. The C-Class maintained an impressive performance, posting sales of almost 2,920 units in October.
The month of October was another resounding success for smart, the perfect car for urban mobility. With sales of almost 1,020 smart cars in October, adding to the year-to-date total of almost 9,300, a 159% increase was achieved over the same 10-month period last year.
The CLS defines the sector of the sports sedan, and the all-new CLS with its refined technology and sportiness is the ideal car for the modern urban gentleman. Following its new launch in China, nearly 400 customers joined the Mercedes-Benz family in October with this beautifully designed 4-door sports sedan. Sales of the all-new SLK leapt following its launch in Chengdu this September, with 190 new owners in October enjoying the open-air driving pleasure of the powerful roadster. The all-new SLK and new CLS added to the success of the Mercedes-Benz sports car family which posted 48% year-on-year gains with sales of over 8,735 units year-to-date.
